Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you give free estimates?

A: Yes! Unless you don't own the home.

Q: What is your square footage price?

A: At Davco we don't fully equate the price with the square footage of the job, rather the time of job completion and how long it will take our crew. We quote every job separately so you can get the biggest bang for your buck.

Q: Is Davco fully insured?

A: Davco Masonry, LLC. is fully insured with a two-million-dollar coverage with a one-million-dollar rider. We have workers compensation and liability insurances for our team and your well-being.

Q: Does Davco offer any financing plans?

A: We are a family-owned business that aims to make every customer fell like they're a part of the Davco family. Therefore, we offer free financing with zero interest.

Q: How can I be sure your drain systems are reliable?

A: We have a lifetime warranty that is one-time transferable between homeowners. We are one of two companies in the capital region that have the expertise and skill in our work to be confident enough to have this kind of warranty.

Q: What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

A: We offer a 10% discount to all veterans, current military enlisted, and seniors.

Q: What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

A: Meeting them at their homes or business and discussing the job. We then send them a written proposal within 2 business days.

Q: What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

A: Owners both have BA degrees and our Masons all have over 30 years or more experience.

Q: How did you get started doing this type of work?

A: Dave Hartman Sr. started the company in 1972. Our Masons have been with us for 25-35 years...

Q: What types of customers have you worked with?

A: We have worked with anyone and everyone needing Masonry services. If your job takes one day or one year, we can help you.

Q: Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

A: Depending on the job and working conditions such as weather, obstructions, town code requirements, other vendors (concrete truck) availability, etc, we will complete jobs as safely, efficiently and quickly as possible.

Q: What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

A: When getting multiple quotes, it's imperative you compare apples to apples. Your quotes need to all have exactly the same materials and expected results. Then, you pick your contractor on years of experience in the business and their BBB rating.

Q: What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

A: Due to the incredibly high insurance costs and NYS taxes and fees associated with being a Masonry company, we unfortunately must pass on these unavoidable expenses to our customers. The customers need to understand that when hiring a Masonry company, our materials, laborers, and overhead are very expensive, so, customers may need to dig a little deeper into their pockets than they would like or expect. Hiring "two guys and a pickup" may be cheaper in the short run, but they cannot offer insurance or a guarantee, both of which are extremely important for the customers safety.
